The Milestones Campaign is a national children’s oral health campaign created by AAOMS and supported partnership with the AAO and AAPD.

The campaign message is “Milestones Met. Healthy Teeth Set: Visit Specialists at Ages 1, 7, 15.” It uses current recommendations of important ages when children need to see a dental specialist. AAPD promotes seeing a pediatric dentist when a child is 1; AAO promotes seeing an orthodontist by the time a child is 7; and AAOMS promotes that teens should get their wisdom teeth checked around the age of 15.

Clinicians play a vital role in the Milestone’s Campaign’s overall success as this campaign relies on collaboration with key stakeholders – such as school districts, pediatricians, family physicians, general dentists – to further the reach of the campaign.
